Energya Plastics Saudi Arabia is one of the largest cable compounding plant in the region located at the modern industrial state of Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. The company started in 1989 as a Wire & Cable PVC Compounds manufacturer, with a total capacity of 16,000 metric tons, that were mostly allocated to serve the captive demand of sister cable manufacturing companies. By the year 2007, given the increasing demand on highly-qualified cables in the region, the company decided to go into a major 5-year expansion plan to gradually increase capacities, extend its product range and to firmly position itself as a key player in the W&C Industry both in Saudi Arabia as well as in the region.
To complete our value chain, a vertical investment was done in Energya Cables Saudi Arabia to expand the group product range upstream and include wire and cable plastics products that cover PVC, PE (LDPE, LLDPE, MDPE, HDPE), XLPE (LV, MV), HFFR, LSHF, LSF & Semi-conductive Materials. Currently our capacity is not only serving the increasing demand of group cable plants but also serving all cable producers in the MENA region and turkey.
The manufacturing facility ranks among one of the most advanced plants in the region with totally new technology supported with internationally high standards and guidelines for meeting quality parameters. Stringent quality control and functional tests are conducted to ensure that the product meets the customer specification. The company also has a highly qualified team of capable Industry.
Energya Group made an investment of SR 1 billion in the state of the art Energy Plastics W&C Compounding plant which is located in the modern industrial city of Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. The plant is divided in four main units.
PVC Compounding Plant
This plant consists of two high-tech PVC compounding lines along fully equipped with sophisticated auxiliary/supporting machinery such as the RM and FG conveying systems, hot and cooling mixers, dosing units, pellet cooling fluidized beds, filling station etc. from different suppliers.
The plant’s capacity and setup is capable to produce PVC grades for conventional extrusion of both soft and rigid compounds. The plant is operational at ISO 7 cleanness classes in most process areas, where the materials are exposed to air. The air is cleaned by HEPA filters as well as air conditioned through high capacity air handling units (AHUs).
LV XLPE / HFFR Clean Plant
This plant consists mainly of two separate production lines:
• Low Voltage Sioplas cross-linkable polyethylene insulation compound (LV XLPE), and
• Halogen-Free Flame Retardant cable insulation and jacketing compounds (HFFR).
PE Jacketing / Semi-Cons Black Plant
This plant is specially designed to produce black thermoplastic PE jacketing compounds as well as peroxide cross-linkable semi-conductive compounds for medium voltage cables. The cleanness level of all process areas are air-tight sealed and maintained under positive pressure except the area where carbon black is opened, where slightly negative pressure is applied to prevent carbon black powder from contaminating the surrounding areas.
MV XLPE Extra-Clean Plant
This plant produces peroxide cross-linkable polyethylene insulation compounds for medium voltage cables up to 36KV. Due to the sensitivity of such application to contaminants larger than 0.2 micron, the cleanness level of materials and all handling and production processes are super important.
Process areas are air-tight sealed and maintained under positive pressure and air inside the plant is consciously filtered through hepa filters by special air handling units to maintain an ISO 6 cleanness level in all processing areas and ISO 7 level in RM and FG storage areas.
While counting on its long legacy and expertise in the W&C applications, Energya Plastics heavily invested in the latest generation of compounding and processing technologies, by constructing high standard facilities and acquiring top-of-the-line production machinery that would guarantee products consistency, cleanliness and reproducibility.
The unique continuous compounding “Kneader” system acquired by Energya Plastics is by far considered the most advanced and sophisticated technique. It assures superior benefits including: excellent efficiency (in terms of power consumption and low scrape/waste generation), accurate ingredients dosing, perfect dispersion and homogeneity, as well as overall plant versatility.
From the upstream side, Energya Plastics applies strict material selection criteria (that would qualify only the prime ingredients), as well as in-process controls, to continuously ensure a high-standard high-grade consistently optimized product. As an example, the Medium Voltage products facilities are designed to be air-tight sealed and maintained under positive pressure. Moreover, using special air handling units, the air is consciously filtered through in order to maintain an ISO 6 cleanness level in all processing areas and ISO 7 level in material handling and storage areas, given that MV products are very sensitive contaminants larger than 0.2 micron. In addition, an “Auto-Inspection System” is applied to the production lines to ensure quality both at material feeding and finished product stages.
By today, Energya Plastics has offered its valued customers world-standard products, covering a wide range of W&C insulation, jacketing and filling applications including:
• Building wires,
• LV/MV/HV power cables,
• Telecommunications,
• Low Smoke / Flame Retardant,
• High Temperature,
• Fire Resistant,
• and other specialty applications.
In addition, thanks to its fully equipped R&D center, Energya Plastics aims to continuously develop innovative products specifically engineered to match its customers special requirements and applications.
